Overview

APM Print Works is a full-service printer based in Beaverton, Oregon. As a token of appreciation to a large client of theirs, they ordered 75 Stand Up Desk Store AirRise™ Pro Standing Desk Converters to be sent to their Oregon headquarters. Once received, APM’s staff planned to apply custom graphics and then send the standing desk converters directly to their customer, who is based in Illinois.

Problem

Due to COVID-related carrier issues, the shipment of 75 converters was delayed in transit, meaning that APM would not receive their converters in time to apply graphics and ship to their customer on deadline.

Solution

Stand Up Desk Store’s Customer Service Team devised a creative way to deliver the converters on deadline.

Specifically, since Stand Up Desk Store is based in the same state as APM’s customer, the Customer Service Team asked APM to send the printed graphics overnight to the SUDS headquarters. Upon receipt, the SUDS warehouse team unboxed 75 converters, applied the stickers, repacked the converters, and shipped the converters straight to the Illinois headquarters of APM’s customer.

Outcome

The converters arrived with time to spare, resulting in a satisfied customer.

“Even though the shipping delay was beyond our control, going the extra mile to deliver the converters on time was the right thing to do,” said Kim Fratus, Stand Up Desk Store Customer Service Lead. “Since most of our custom orders are handled at the factory, customizing a product at the warehouse is not something we do very often. But it was worth it because we met the deadline, and APM was ecstatic about our quick-to-action tactic, as well as our customer service.”

APM Project Manager Kyle McSmith agreed the extra effort was worthwhile.
