Top 5 Office Workouts for the Fall

Many people love autumn because it’s the one time of year when the weather is not unbearably hot, cold, or it’s constantly raining. For that very reason, fall is the perfect time to step away from your desk and venture outside the office to burn a few calories.

In previous blog articles, we’ve provided suggestions to exercise at work with our 10 Best Stretches and Office Exercises to Do at Your Desk, Top 5 Abs Workouts for Your Desk, well as our 5 Best Desk Yoga Stretches.

For this article, we’ll mix it up a bit by providing a few ways to get moving in the crisp fall air just beyond your office’s front door. This will be sure to complement the health benefits your enjoy by using a stand up desk or standing desk converter.

Office Exercises for Autumn

1. Jog in Place

Find a nice stretch of sidewalk or section of grass and jog in place. For maximum benefit, make sure to raise your knees up to waist height. Base the speed and intensity on your fitness level and sustain for 45 seconds.

2. Wall Squats

With your back against the side of your office building, slowly lower down to a seated position where your thighs are parallel with the ground. See if you can hold for 45 seconds.

3. Pretend Jump Rope

Just like the name implies, pretend like you’re jumping rope. Match the speed and intensity to your fitness level and sustain for 45 seconds. If you happen to have a real jump rope lying around, even better.

4. Stair Climb

If your office building has a staircase (or better yet, a stair well) use it as your personal trainer. Climb up the stairs at a walking pace (you’ll often feel more of a “burn” in your legs when you go slow). When you get to the top, jog back down. Repeat until you’ve climbed 100 stairs.

5. 15 Minute Walk

If it’s nice outside, take advantage. Simply enjoy the weather and go for a walk. After 15 minutes, come back to your desk refreshed and ready for the next task.

We hope you find these office exercises and office workout ideas helpful. And for maximum health and productivity, choose a stand up desk or standing desk converter from Stand Up Desk Store!
